CEDRIC AND MARISSA NOTEBOOK TEASER

Here is a small look into what will surely become a treasure trove of insight for this blog--the notebooks I kept with my friend Cedric in 8th grade. We really didn't need to pay attention in any of our classes, so this is what filled the time void that was middle school. We ranted about our classmates, our most favorite and most loathed celebrities and TV shows, and our friends who were actually really awful to us. Needless to say, we're still friends, but those other people have been audi for a long time now!



" -- WAIT... ew, we just had an earthquake drill! AAARGH ~" - me, followed by a forgotten drawing of the guy--John Basedow, if yr nasty--from those ab exercise commercials that were on at the time. Cedric gave him a spaghetti-strap tank and some cleavage.


I think we were discussing (better) ideas for reality TV shows, which were a new thing at the time (Survivor 1, Temptation Island, etc.) and then Ceddie added this designer's sketch of something that I'm sure Lil' Kim has worn in 10 different colors since then.


We loved Chyna. We made this drawing of her around the time when she had her MTV Diary eppy, hence the "You think you know, but you have no idea!" bubble. Other bubbles include: "I'm just a woman with muscle!," "Hi, The Rock!" and "My little dog's dying!," presumably all things we heard her say at some point in time. Please note that this was pre-Surreal Life, pre-Celebrity Rehab, addiction-denying Chyna or "Joanie." She was still in her heydey, circa 1999-2000, so truly, we were ahead of the pack of Chyna mockers. What.

People, I'm telling you, that is JUST the tip of the iceberg that was formed of multiple volumes over 9 months of the strangest grade at the strangest school known to the US public school system. Keep it locked here for more hilarity SOON.
